Staining of teeth can cause:
• Age: there is a direct relationship between age and tooth color. Over the years, the teeth become darker as a result of wear and accumulated colorings
• Eating habits: frequent consumption of coffee, red wine, tea, and sugary soft drinks, beverages, carrots, oranges, beetroot, as well as general citrus or vinegar contribute to enamel erosion
• Smoking: Nicotine leaves brownish pigments that are absorbed slowly – slowly to the tooth structure and cause discoloration
• Drugs – Chemical booklets: the use of tetracycline during tooth formation, produces dark gray or brown spots which are difficult to remove. Excessive consumption also fluorine may cause white spots
• Trauma: blows from falling as other injuries can cause large cracks in the teeth, which are in turn to collect large amounts of stains
• Mouthwash containing chlorhexidine
