Instructions for patients with composite veneers:
Congratulations!!!
In your mouth you have aesthetic restorations made with the latest dental technology, in materials and techniques.
To maintain the longevity and excellent aesthetic performance of resin surfaces in the long run, you need to follow some rules:
1. Brush with a soft toothbrush at least 2 times a day. Floss at least once a day, preferably before bedtime.
2. As with your natural teeth, your bonded restorations can become pigmented. For this reason, try to minimize the use of cigarettes, red wine, coffee, tea, chamomile, soy sauce, grapefruit juice, raspberry, beetroot. Daily brushing of your teeth usually removes stains.
3. If oral solution is required, use ½ hydrogen peroxide and ½ water solution or choose an alcohol-free solution.
4. Avoid or interrupt habits such as: opening packages with teeth, biting nails, pen, pin, pipe, chewing ice. Avoid direct bites on ribs, bones, nuts, crayons, nuts or other hard nuts. Also, biting foods such as apples, corn, carrots can exert additional stresses and lead to frequent repairs.
5. If small breaks or larger fractures are observed, the resin face can be repaired with the same material. It is a short-term appointment and the fee is similar to that of a simple occlusion of the front teeth
6. The duration of composite veneers depends on many factors. It’s like buying new tires. How long they will last depends on the quality of the tire, the surface of the road, the way you drive and how many kilometers you travel each year. In the same way, the longevity of your faces depends on your habits and how big tendencies develop in your front teeth.
7. As composite veneers are usually made in a single visit to the doctor’s office, you will have a different feeling with your lips and tongue when you first close your mouth. This is normal and expected when there are changes in the shape and size of the teeth. Your speech may also change to some degree or be affected initially, until your language assimilates the changes. Although the changes may be small (measured in millimeters), your mouth is very sensitive and will swell this first sensation. Usually after a few days, this sensation is normalized and your mouth will feel as familiar as before.
Instructions that need to be followed after bleaching:
Bleaching in the doctor’s office with LED lamp or LASER method:
To maintain the longevity and excellent aesthetic effect of teeth whitening in the long run, you need to remember some rules:

3. If oral solution is required, use a solution that does not contain chlorhexidine.
4. If you feel any sensitivity, you can take analgesic tablets, one every 4 hours or 6 hours

Whitening at home with splints:
To achieve the expected results from home whitening with personalized splints, you will need to follow the instructions below:
1. The whitening gel recommended for whitening your teeth, recommended only by the dentist and intended exclusively for dental use.
2. The whitening gel must be stored in a cool place. Especially in summer, you will need to keep it in the fridge.
.
3. The amount of whitening gel you have received is enough for daily use for 15 days, at which time the whitening process with splints at home is completed. The amount of whitening gel that needs to be placed on the braces will be equal to one “lentil” on each tooth. Placing excess material on the splints does not speed up the bleaching process. Save on your hardware for extra security, but also to use it for as many days as possible. You can remove excess material from the gums with a cotton swab or your toothbrush.
4. Brush your teeth well before and after each application of the whitening gel on your teeth, as well as the use of dental floss. We recommend the use of whitening toothpaste to increase the whitening effect.
5. Always keep the whitening splints clean before and after applying the gel, rinsing with water. Always make sure they are dry before applying the gel.
6. Avoid eating or drinking immediately after removing the splint for one hour. Avoid eating foods with dyes. Try to minimize the use of cigarettes, cigars, red wine, coffee, tea, chamomile, cola, soy sauce, grapefruit juice, cherries, strawberry, raspberry, beetroot, red meat.
7. If you feel sensitivity in your teeth, stop using the teeth whitening gel for a day. If the sensitivity persists, tell your dentist.
