Everyday, we are exposed to radiation from various sources, such as air travel, household appliances, mobile phones, wireless data transmission networks, radio and TV transmitters, etc.
The radiation doses of X-rays are as follows:
• X-rays after the flap (4 radiographs) = 0,038 mSV
• intraoral Full-mouth series (18 radiographs) = 0,150 mSV
• Chest X-ray = 0,080 mSV
• X-ray upper gastrointestinal tract = 2,400 mSV
• Panoramic radiography = 0,007 – 0,038 mSV
• Dental CT = 0,027 – 0,056 mSV
